Serum vs. Bakuchiol Beauty Oil

Serum vs. Bakuchiol Beauty Oil: Let’s Find Your Skincare Match.

Which one is right for me?

When it comes to achieving glowing and flawless skin, the choices can often feel overwhelming. Among the various products that promise glowing skin, serums and beauty oils stand out as two powerhouses, each with its unique benefits.

In the showdown between Serum and Bakuchiol Beauty Oil (your natural retinol alternative), which one truly deserves a spot in your skincare routine? Let's dive in to help you make an informed decision that aligns with your skin's needs.

The Serum Advantage

Serums have become a staple in many skincare routines over the years. These lightweight, gel-based formulas are designed to target specific skin concerns, like dehydration, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, appearance of pores or acne blemishes. Packed with high quality, moisture loving & corrective-active ingredients like Vitamin B3 & B5, hyaluronic acid and peptides, serums penetrate deep into the skin, delivering intense hydration and skin correction. Serums are the ultimate multitaskers, addressing a variety of skin concerns like acne, oily/combination, dry & dehydrated skin, whilst providing visible results with consistent use.

The Nourishment of Bakuchiol Beauty Oil

Beauty oils, on the other hand, offer a luxurious approach to skincare. Derived from natural sources such as plant extracts & oils like Camellia Oil, Squalane & natural retinol alternatives like Bakuchiol, beauty oils are rich in fatty acids and vitamins that provide a protective barrier for your skin. These oils work wonders in locking in moisture, but also help to speed up cell renewal & boost collagen production (think dry skin & deep wrinkles), leaving your skin feeling supple and looking radiant. They are particularly beneficial for those with a drier skin type, as they help restore the skin's natural lipid barrier (think flaky, dry, mature skin). They can also be extremely beneficial for those with a compromised skin barrier that has gone too hard with the skincare actives.

Choosing Your Skin Hero

The decision between serum and beauty oil ultimately depends on your skin type and concerns. If you're targeting specific issues like wrinkles, pigmentation, enlarged pores & acne blemishes, a serum might be your best friend. On the other hand, if you're seeking an overall boost of moisture, putting ‘bounce’ back in your skin and craving a luminous glow, a beauty oil could be the missing piece in your routine.

But can’t I use both?

You absolutely can! If you feel like your skin needs the help of every ingredient known, then have fun with your skincare ritual & use both! For most beauties with normal/dry/sensitive skin, you can add your beauty oil as the very last step in your skincare ritual, morning & night.

If you tend to have more of a combination/oily T-zone prone skin, then you might prefer to use your beauty oil at night only, as the last step.

But really? Skin test both skincare products together & see how your skin likes the combination.

For me, I love using both the Serum & Beauty oil morning & night during the winter months when the cold air & heating sucks my skin dry. However, during summer, my skin doesn’t need as much nourishment, so I’ll only use both the serum & beauty oil together at night.
